Instructional Coach

Erynn Mathews-Davis

My passion for early childhood education led me directly to College Heights. I genuinely believe in the powerful impact of the early years. My "why" as an Instructional Coach is all about reaching every child, especially by helping to bridge achievement gaps and ensure that a child's circumstances never limit their potential. I do this by championing our teachers. I see my role as providing them with the expertise, strategies, and resources to offer every child a high-quality education and the strongest possible start on their learning journey. It's incredibly fulfilling to know that empowering our teachers gives every child at College Heights the best chance to thrive.

I came to the position of Instructional Coach with over two decades of experience in the field of early learning. Before arriving at College Heights, I worked with children, teachers, and parents in public and tuition-based programs serving children ages birth through five. At Drew Charter School, I was the program lead and collaborated with the administration and the Rollins Center for Language and Literacy to grow the early learning program to four Georgia Pre-K classes and two preschool classrooms.

After graduating from Kennesaw State University with a degree in Early Childhood Education and receiving my teaching certificate in PK-5, I earned an M.S.Ed in Elementary Education with a specialization in Reading and Literacy. I returned to graduate school at Mercer University and completed my Ed.S in Elementary Education with a specialization in Coaching. My family and I live in Decatur and two of my three children currently attend CSD schools; my oldest daughter graduated from Decatur High School in 2024.
